FIRST THINGS FIRST…

STBtheDON, born in Kansas City, and raised in Wyandotte County, is one of KC’s brightest young gems. Crafty, witty, and hilarious, “Tee,” as his family and friends know him, has a special gift for saying the right thing at the right time. As a rapper, STBtheDON constantly pushes the creative energy in the studio to new heights by freestyling lyrics, making up comedy skits, or referencing movies and documentaries.

On the outside, STBtheDON is dreadlocked & well-dressed. He’s a passionate sneakerhead with stories from his youth about collecting and trading Jordans in Wyandotte County. He prides himself on wearing Uggs for men before it was a fashion trend.

On the weekends, you can find Tee rolling a Backwood and recording music with his local producer/engineer, Conor Eckert. Conor – who goes by the producer name ConorChillOut – uses a memorable beat tag that can be heard throughout the project. In addition to producing every beat, Conor contributed by engineering and mixing the 10-track project.

STBtheDON released “Project Home” on July 9, 2021. Project Home was originally recorded back when STBtheDON first making music around November 2019. After developing a new, refined sound through a few years of music experience, Tee decided to remake the project entirely from scratch.

Tee is one of the most talented freestyle artists in music today – “a strong 90%” of his songs are completely freestyled based on emotion, he says. Rather than write a verse, Tee prefers to make music by starting with a catchy chorus that encapsulates a feeling. This energy and spontaneity draws the listener in and is ever-present throughout Project Home. Fans agree, as his album has already amassed 300k+ streams.

STANDOUT TRACK

“The Riddler”

The dark, jumpy, Metro Boomin-Esque beat features production from ConorChillOut. The Riddler features a catchy hook and comes in at just over two and a half minutes in length, giving the track tons of replay value.
