Insecure: Surviving, Okay?! - Episode Reaction

Last week, People who are on Team Nathan got our dreams fulfilled. This week Nathan and Issa become more of a couple. We also learn something very devastating about Molly’s mother.
This week this episode was based on Molly and if she truly gave us growth, but she lowkey fails but we will let slide this time. While getting her freak on, she gets a flurry of incoming messages. Her mother, Carol, has been hospitalized. She shows up in her freakum dress but that's okay because she was in a rush and getting her groove back. After the doctor first confuses Carol with another, much older Black woman, the family finally finds her. Which was very hilarious but it showed a deep subject about how doctors give less consideration for black patients. We learned that Carol, Molly’s mother, has had a stroke and is unresponsive. This has completely thrown Ms. Molly off guard since she’s usually in control of everything in her life. Throughout the episode, the Carter family waits to see how much the stroke has affected Carol. Molly doesn’t leave the hospital, and soon Issa stops by to offer support and help.
True Sisterhood...
Issa had just woken up in Nathan’s bed, to a cup of coffee, and Nathan in briefs, when she got the news about Carol. She asks Nathan to take her to the hospital, where she offers to bring Molly a more appropriate outfit. Until she gets her new outfit, she gives Molly the clothes off her back so that she can be more comfortable while tending to her family. #sisterhood. It’s beautiful to see the relationship reach that level of shared love, where a nod and a hug communicates more than words can. Great job Kerry Washington! At Molly’s apartment, Issa grabs a nice hospital fit for Molly and takes Flavor Flav on a walk. While being distracted by her mom and Nathan meeting by Facetime for the first time, the dog aka Flavor Flav gets loose. They set out to find him with a bizarre lack of urgency. They basically just kicked it and hoped Flav would come back to them. I would be flipping the town upside down but then again they are both not pet owners. But Flav comes back to them when they get back to Molly’s apartment. While talking about the day, Issa slips up and saids to Nathan “I honestly could not have done today without you. You’re so patient with me, that’s why I love you.” But it was almost accidental. It’s another unplanned step forward in their relationship and again Nathan responds with a warm kiss.
The Carters…
Molly has taken on the responsibility to take on the updates on her mother. Her parents had hidden key details about her mother’s health, including the fact that Carol had had a stroke before. Molly is shocked and her sense of control takes another hit which is she wasn’t aware of what all was going on with her own parents. Molly has learned that her mother will likely be at least partially paralyzed by the stroke. The doctor offers to inform the family, Molly volunteers to do it herself to take some control back of course. Issa arrives back at the hospital and Molly beats herself up for having a good time while her mother was having a stroke. “I was hooking up with some random guy when my mom was busy having a stroke,” she says.
“All of this stuff is out of our control anyway...”
After letting Molly vent, Issa sees Lawrence and his unexpected family together while going to grab coffee. Lawrence and Candola are at the hospital for a pediatric appointment. Issa and Lawrence lock eyes immediately when Lawerence looks up. The screen goes black after they both realize what they could have and both become disappointed about it.
