Insecure: Tired, Okay?! - Episode Reaction
By: T.K
Last week, We got to see Molly be in control. We saw Issa and Nathan get close and Issa saying the 3 words. This week, I’m considering to resign as VP for #TeamNathan club because chile what the hell!
The episode starts off with fantasizing about peacefully approaching Lawrence, Condola and baby Elijah at the hospital, only to toss that baby and say “Fuck dem kids”, dropkick Condola in the stomach and flex on her ex like she was going to do the same to him. What a great way to start it off with a laugh. Later on, Issa goes through Lawerence’s instagram and sees he is back in LA. Insecure has the best sex scenes but baby this weeks with Issa and Nathan had me thinking like girl what is going on. After that nightmare of thing to watch, she is later professionally shot down by some unfriendly Black Gen Z art hotties that she hope to book for The Blocc’s Art Walk, but with Crenshawn’s bad press has caused some blocks for her. Which has her trying to make an effort to fix her and Crenshawn’s relationship to save her event.
Molly and Her Business...
Molly is away at a business retreat with her law partners. The good moment this week was finding out Molly’s mom is awake and stable. I was literally gonna cry if something happened to Carol. While on the retreat, Molly gets a little too drunk on the top shelf liquor and acts a fool to where she thought she and Taurean slept together which I’m glad because I do not ship her and Taurean together. That's too easy in my opinion.
Reasons Why I Might Resign as VP…
Nathan decides to cut one of Suge’s clients' hair due to his unprofessionalism and tardiness every time. With the barbershop owner not supporting Nathan and not checking Suge about his professionalism. During a meeting to pay booth rent, Suge decides to call out Nathan for breaking barbershop code and talking about Nathan’s mental health was such a low blow for somebody not considering Suge being in the hot seat. After a long day and Issa fantasizing about being roundhouse kicked by Condola, she and Nathan decide to have dinner together. Issa starts the conversation on why hasn’t he has not said I love you. He handles this in the worst way possible. Gets defensive. Blows her feelings off. And she blows him off too. Especially when he starts to think about leaving LA. Issa calls off the argument and they sit in silence. I need my boy Nathan to make positive thoughts and make him an Issa work!
Natasha Rothwell who also plays Kelli did an excellent job directing this episode! Next week is Girl’s Night at Issa’s!
