Insecure: Choices, Okay?! - Episode Reaction

By: T.K

This week, Issa is thriving personally and professionally, but a series of dreams and maybe nightmares have injected into her current situation.

In this episode we see some powerful and interesting dreams that Issa is experiencing which has Lawrence all in it. Like come on Issa. Close this damn chapter please. Anyways, the episode starts off with Issa and Nathan being back in a good space. Issa is seen wearing a shirt of his and they share a bathroom conversation to where Nathan brings up if they should move in together. Issa is shocked. I was shocked too as I expect that from Issa but not our man Nathan. Like okay he sees something with Issa.

Sweet Dreams…

Issa’s professional life is thriving just like her relationship which makes her super excited. In her dream sequence, she is offered what seems like a high number to partner with MBW. She expertly walks her sponsors through the process. She is in charge, she knows her talking points and has her bases covered and then some. Then it appears we move forward in the timeline or schedule where is interviewed by Elaine Welteroth to show she has leveled up. Randomly we see her flying first class next to Ty Dolla $ign. After a long dream slash day she is back home and living with Nathan, which makes her snap out the sequence.

Molly and her Parents…

Also this week we got to see Molly finally get her parents to work on their will and estate planning with the help of our girl Kelli. I do like the fact the writers are still talking about this because it’s a big thing in the black community. With Kelli’s help, Molly is able to get her parents to understand why it’s important. Kelli calms the tenison down with jokes and how the bank will work with them. It’s lowkey her part of finding her purpose since she asked that question in episode 1.

Still Dreaming…

Issa’s second daydream of the episode was both more aspirational and distraught. Before the daydream, Crenshawn finally apologizes for his behavior on social media and wants to work with her again. Cue the daydream! She partners up with Crenshawn and opens two locations with him. She is so loved in her community that when she gets ice cream, the ice cream man asks if she’s gonna play Spades on Sunday. Which gives me hope that if she can learn at her big age I can be taught at my big age. Issa receives the key to Inglewood and a day named after her from Tyra Banks who is the mayor. At the end of this dream, she goes home and Nathan walks out to greet her, but then when he walks into a different room, Lawrence is the one who comes back out. Lawrence goes in for a kiss and Issa screams which brings her back to reality to where she and Nathan are having dinner.

Issa please stop trying to fit Lawrence in the equation. I’m tired of this. Nathan is your boo.
