📺: Invincible - Season 1 REVIEW

First things first…

This show has easily become one of my favorites in recent months. From episode one Invincible is non-stop action. Based on the Image Comics series of the same name, Mark Grayson son of the strongest heroes ever, Omi-Man. I knew a few things about the plot going into it but I was not ready for HALF of the things that went down this season. This show kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

STAND OUT MOMENTS (Spoilers)

Please watch the show before reading this, can’t say I didn’t warn ya!

• Omni-Man kills the Guardians

This was the only thing I had heard about Invincible prior to watching the show. While watching the pilot with friends one mentioned “I like the Guardians of the Globe, but they’re too close to The Justice League”. We were both in for a treat when Omin-Man decides to destroy his peers.

• Robot becomes a real boy

I was a fan of Robot, up to the point when he started braking villains out of prison and stealing DNA. Robot might be the third strongest guardian behind Mark and Eve, but we can’t look past a 30 year old going into a child’s body to be with another child (I know Monster-Girl is 25 in a 12 year old’s body) But STILL… Mad SUS.

• The Break up

I found Amber’s reasoning for her and Mark’s break up pretty ridiculous. By the time the two get back from the campus tour I was just hoping Mark would end up with Eve. It’s not that I hate Amber, I just find her motivations odd. If she knew Mark was a hero why hold that against him?

• “I’d still have you dad”

After Mark has the LIFE beaten out of him, Omni-Man screams at Mark asking him “after 500 years, and everyone is gone who would you have?”

“I’d still have you dad” *CHILLS*

IN CONCLUSION…

I saw a meme that said “Mark needs to get into the gym, instead of worrying about the women”. I totally agree! Mark’s only hope is to clone himself at this point, because as we saw he stands no chance against his father. I’m a fan of Mark but he’s got a lot to learn, and hopefully season two will address that.

“Best case scenario Omni-Man comes back alone” - Dar

The earth is in for a rude awakening if Omni-Man comes back with his people and they’re on ten as well. No hope. I think Cecil has something up his sleeve, as well as Robot.

If you’re a fan of movies like Kick-Ass, Spider-Man, Skyhigh, hell any superhero movies you’ll like Invincible. 1000% Recommend!
